Below are the latest standings in the Grayson Cup

The GRAYSON CUP is named in memory of Mike Grayson who used to play for Kirkcaldy and then Glenrothes Chess Clubs.  The format has varied over the years - at the moment it is a quick-play tournament.

Grayson Cup Format 2015-16

Games can be 15/20/25/30 minutes per player as appropriate.

Results should be recorded in the results sheet.

The Grayson Cup winner will be the person with the most points at the end of the season.

Two players

Play two games, one with Black/one with White.

Three, Four and Five players –

All-play-all (use the Berger pairing sheet where necessary)

Six players and above

Run as a three or four round Swiss tournament as appropriate.

Keep it simple!  Don’t worry about colour sequence in later rounds – just select by drawing pawns!

Where there are an odd number of players, the player not playing will be given a one point bye.

OR

Split players into two groups and run two separate all-play-all tournaments!
